Love is . . . .

My lovely wife Lulu and I can just imagine the delight of coming home from school every day.
Bella and her new PM are clearly very happy together.
We believe Aunty Jenny is intrigued and wants to make friends, but Bella is still dubious.
Soon, Aunty Jenny, soon - just don't lose hope . . .

Bellaboo

Yesterday morning the PM took Bellaboo to the King Shaka Airport for a flight down to Port Elizabeth from where she was taken by car to Uitenhage where she will be living with her new family.
We received this photo of Bella and her lovely new 10 year old PM.
Although little Bella looks tired and traumatised after spending nearly 5 hours in a flight box, she will soon forget the ordeal and is going to be very happy - it looks like a lot of playing will be done.

 Bellaboo meets Aunty Jenny
Aunty Jenny really looks HUGE compared to our little Bellaboo and Bella has that  "I hope she doesn't think that I'm a cat" look on her face. This photo somehow reminds me of the day I was introduced to old Aunty Muffin. I bet that pretty soon Bella and Aunty Jenny will be running around and playing just like we did. (Although it took all of 7 days for Aunty Muffin to accept me . . . . .)

Nothing better than a good nap after a hard day of playing - under the watchful eye of Mr Panda of course. How cute is that tongue - I wonder what she is dreaming about?
♥Thank you to the new PM's for sending us photos. We love to keep in touch♥

Boomer

Whoever first said "It's a dog's life" did not have this in mind.
Boomer moved to Durban last week and we have received these and other photos of him.
His new PM says that he can already fetch a ball.
That's my boy - as clever as his Daddy
How content he looks.
A little Prince in a King sized bed.

Eight weeks old ....

How time flies.....
The puppies 'celebrated' eight weeks today with a bath and a first grooming. The PM was very impressed at how well they behaved. They thoroughly enjoyed all the pampering.
Bella is pondering on what all the fuss was about

Bonbon sits just like my lovely Lulu used to when she was this age.
Bonbon has been plump since birth and loves her food just like her mommy did. Perhaps sitting like this is more comfortable for a pup with a round tummy ;)

"but you said NOTHING about not rolling in the sand after a bath...."
Bogey left home yesterday to go and live with his new PM&D and a Spaniel named Tizer. We hope to see Bogey on a regular basis when he visits to be groomed

 Bella strikes a Schnauzer pose.
She is a serious type - takes after me ;)

I'm innocent - the bit of sand on my nose was Bogey's fault....

Binky looking as pretty as ever.

Five weeks old....

At five weeks our babies love outside play-time in the enclosure in the courtyard. A Gymnogene that hovers over our town has been seen picking up dogs and we are taking no chances.
I love to watch the puppies run and play, and often join in the fun.

The puppies are learning that there is a designated area for potty......

Although the babies are on Hills and eating very well, my lovely Lulu still enjoys mothering them (despite the fact that they all have a few teeth now)

Three weeks old ....

We had a VERY busy weekend.
The PM built a new wooden box for the puppies.
I helped where I could by carrying plenty of sawdust into the house.
Our puppies have really grown, while TD is still shrinking and is now being used as a pillow. Like the previous litter, the puppies are shedding baby hair and the PM has a full time job changing the sheets. She loves it, though. The puppies have started barking but will need a lot of guidance from me before they will sound like watchdogs. Our breed makes good watchdogs. The new People Daddy of two of our previous boys, told the PM that they are more alert than his Boer-bulls

My lovely Lulu finds it easier to sit and feed the growing puppies.

Content after a feed and very happy in the new box. Clever PM... we love you.

I am a very proud Daddy and would like to introduce our children:
This is Bellaboo sleeping nose to cheek with TD (We named him TD because of a button on his behind that says "The Dog".  But judging by the way he seems to be shrinking, perhaps "Tiny Dog" would be a more suitable name

Boomer likes to snuggle close to the wall of the wooden box
He is our first-born of the litter

Below is little Binky. She might be small, but has a lot of spirit. She likes to play and the tail is always wagging. I have a sneaky feeling that she is the PM's favourite, but she assures me that she loves them all the same.  Binky is by no means a 'runt' and is very active and gaining weight at the same rate as the rest of the litter. She will probably grow up to be as petite as my lovely Lulu

A Binky-face..... how adorable

Bogey is as handsome as his Daddy (even if I have to say so myself)

Bonbon likes likes to snuggle with the toys.

Cute little heart shaped Schnauzer noses
No need to wonder why the PM is making Puppy ID collars
in various colours.
The collars don't show in the photo, and I certainly can't tell who's who? Gorgeous Schnauzer eyebrows beginning to develop.....

Two weeks old....

How time flies - it is hard to believe that our puppies are two weeks old already. They are all healthy and strong and are beginning to use their hind legs to try and stand. Soon it will be playtime.

Although Binky has had a 200% weight gain since birth, she remains smaller than the other pups. She probably takes after her Granny Sally-Anne, who I believe is quite small.
Poor old TD seems to be shrinking by the day.

Bellaboo must be dreaming about the teat that Boomer
bullied her away from.
Which makes me wonder:  what DO puppies dream about?
I dream of cats and rats and geckos and frogs and playing ball with the PM or chasing my lovely Lulu around the yard - but what is there for a puppy to dream about?  Ah - Perhaps about the PM putting them on the scale? (I don't think they like that much) or perhaps the PM changing their bedding? (they don't like that at all) Bonbon is the only one so far who might be dreaming
"out of the box"
Poor little thing landed on the cold floor because she would not let go when Lulu jumped out. Luckily the PM was home at the time and heard the plaintive cries.

The last photo shows a pile of peaceful and very content puppies
Thanks to my lovely Lulu who is an excellent mother, they always have full tummies.

8 days old

Our beautiful puppies are eight days old and have doubled their birth weight. Is it my imagination or does TD look smaller than last week? I think I am beginning to understand what the PM meant by the word 'comparison'
My lovely Lulu is such a good mother and the puppies are all very content. The puppies look so smart in their new collars made by the PM. To find out more about the collars please click on the "Puppy Collars" tab at the top of this page.

Our Handsome Boys

Today the PM received a photo of the two boys from our previous litter who are living in Mt Edgecombe, just outside Durban . Handsome young fellows. The PM tells me that their People Daddy says they are excellent watchdogs.  Makes me proud.... My lovely Lulu and I certainly make beautiful children. This is what our new puppies will look like by the middle of next year.

A visit from the stork

Our household was abuzz this last week as the PM prepared for the arrival of our new puppies. My lovely wife Lulu could no longer fit through the security gates.....
Late yesterday afternoon our first little boy was born.
As you can see - I was there for support as usual and watched as Lulu cleaned our firstborn.
This time I took the whelping like a pro and did not vomit on the floor like the last time ;)

It was quite cold last night and the PM kept the puppies warm in a box while Lulu was giving birth to, and cleaning the next pup. I could not keep my eyes off the new babies!

...and then came Bellaboo, Boomer, Binky and lastly Bonbon....

Binky is the smallest pup while Bonbon is a real little fatty!

This afternoon the PM put a toy in the puppy box saying it is called "The Dog" and that it will show the growth of the puppies by comparison. (Not that I could make any sense of that, but I very convincingly pretended to understand)

My lovely Lulu did not quite know what to make of the intruder either. Here she is seen laying down the rules while The Dog listens intently.

The Dog (I shall call him TD for short) seems to have taken a liking to little Binky. This group photo shows how small Binky is compared to the other four puppies. Bonbon has draped herself over her sister like a baby walrus.

TD lying next to Binky - the schnoz in the corner is mine - I have to keep an eye on the intruder

The PM captured a tender moment between Lulu and Bogey, while TD is wondering what the other puppies are doing
Bogey's new People Mommy came to watch the births and to offer support to our PM
He sure is a lucky boy to get such a nice People Mommy, and we are very lucky that at least one of our children will be living close to us. I overheard the PM say that she will be grooming Bogey when needed which means that we will get a regular visit. All our previous puppies moved very far away and I doubt that we will ever see them again. I wonder where Bogey's siblings will be going to?

Ha - I have just taken a closer look at TD and found out why the PM calls him "The Dog" - he has this button on his behind.
He seems pretty harmless and I suppose I might as well accept him as part of the litter - but I will be watching.

My Lovely Lulu ...

...as beatiful now...
...as she was when she arrived.
I was smitten when I first saw her and I still am.
We have this new game that we play:
I grab a mouthful of kibbles from the feeder and carry it to the mat where my lovely Lulu is waiting. I drop the kibbles and then we both eat.  The PM is very impressed by this - she thinks I am a star for taking care of my pregnant wife so lovingly. By this time next month our new puppies should be here.
Did I ever tell you that with our first litter I was there to welcome every single puppy as they were born? Mind you - I might have missed the appearance of the second one because I vomited in shock after witnessing the birth of Amy who arrived first. The PM consoled me by saying that I should not worry, because People Daddies normally faint. I don't know what that means, but I guess vomiting can't be THAT bad?

Abby

That's our beautiful Abby on the left.
Such a poser. How sweet that she is leaning on Eddy.
There is always great excitement when the PM receives
photos of our offspring from their new owners.
